Today while I was checkin on all the blogs I follow I found my way to Once A Mother... and felt so compelled to share it.
Go check it out....I will wait!
Okay, did she break your heart and make you think, or what?
She is so right, our society doesn't want to talk about women who have lost babies unless they are poking fun or making them out to be crazies! Don't get me wrong...I feel plenty of crazy, but I am not "Towel Baby" crazy (that I know of!)
Another thing about her blog is her header, did you catch it? It says, "A man who's lost his wife is called widower. A child without parents is called orphan. But what of a woman whose only child has passed? What am I to be called?" Touching.
I just had to share. Please, please please go give her some love and thank her for touching you, if she did so! Comments are the new hug, ya know!?!

6 rose petals:
i haven't followed the link yet (but i will, she's got a great way of saying things)....
oh my YES! why do we get so ignored and glossed over??????
do people think that by NOT talking about it, babies stop dying and we stop feeling the pain?????
just had this conversation with hubby... AGAIN.
sigh...
She wrote an excellent post. I have been trying to get the word out, I write to Oprah all the time because I think this is big news.
Baby Lost mother's are neglected and it hurts my heart. ((HUGS))
Thanks Britt, and no you aren't 'towel baby' crazy, but I'm with you I feel crazy quite often!! Thanks for sharing this good one, and I added her to my feed!! You're the best!!
Sending you a hug. I'm so glad I've found your blog but most importantly, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Oh BOY did I cry and cry and cry thinking of Towel Baby...or the doll baby thrown in the river. Just Wednesday, I told my counselor I could really, really see how women could be driven to that...the pain in one's heart is that great.
"Once a Mother" is one of the many blogs I have bookmarked under my "Loss" folder...where I go when I need to be "with" people who have been there.
Your new blog layout is beautiful!
