This one is kind of silly and makes me feel like I am never going to be an adult, but "A" and I NEVER make our bed. It seems like I work to keep the rest of the house picked up and have really "decorated" it, but our bedroom always gets neglected. And it seems like our dressers always end up being the place EVERYTHING gets piled. I was thinking about it the other day and realized how backwards that was. Our room should be a sanctuary, but a girl's gotta start somewhere...right? So, I have been making our bed every day. I used to think it was stupid...I mean, you are just going to get back in it later, but honestly, I feel more "grounded" when I come home from a crazy day on campus and my bed is made. So, I am not promising myself to do it everyday, but when I feel like I don't want to because I could sleep an extra
Also, I started reading through the Bible. Now, this sounds lofty and spiritual and great, but I just want to reiterate that I am NOT promising anything!! I found a really cool site, You Version, that creates a reading plan that can be done online. It generally takes me less than 10 minutes/ day and I can mark the day off the checklist. I REALLY love checklists, so this is motivation!!
One of the more "serious" things I am trying to work on is my prayer life. I read somewhere the other day (I have no idea where) about making a very specific prayer list and praying for those things until God answers you. (Of course, I realize that God's answer isn't always yes) But I do know that James 4:2 tells me that "You do not have
-That God will give "A" and I a baby that I get to carry in my belly for AT LEAST 36 weeks, that is healthy, that gets to come home with us, and that lives MUCH longer than I do.
There are a couple of other things that are on my list (like less debt and a new house; yes, those sound like contradictions, I know!), but the one above is the one I find myself praying every day, sometimes several times a day!
So, what are your NON-resolutions?
Forever Her Mommy,

3 rose petals:
R makes the bed for us during the week (he gets up after I do) and it's such a treat coming home every day to a clean bedroom! I try to do it for him on the weekends. Used to feel the same way - what's the point? But now it's just another one of those things that's part of the routine, and it's not so bad :)
I'm checking out the link to YouVersion, because it has been a goal of mine for two years to read the Bible. And so far I haven't even cracked it open.
Praying ... something I should probably try doing every now and again!
Love you :)
Kudos to you for making your bedroom your sanctuary! We all need that place that's warm and cozy :)
As for your "specific" prayer, I will be praying just that for you and A.
God Winks to you honey and big hugs!
Gotta send me the youversion link and I'll read with you, then we can discuss!! I don't promise to keep up with it daily, but so what if it takes us twice as long as long as we get it done right?!!? Those are good goals and I'm joining you in prayer for those things!!!
